Nap Dress: Beach Outfits for the Family

The Nap Dress goes to the beach! Everyone knows our Nap Dress obsession is real here at Carole Made Me Do It HQ. I’ve had a few repeat requests for how to style a Nap Dress (feels like a proper noun, no?), so I’m showing you a few different ideas over the next week. If you’ve been wondering what to wear with a Nap Dress, or what to dress your kids or your spouse in when you know you must wear your Nap Dress, I’ve got you covered!

Go coastal with your Nap Dress! Here we are pairing the Nap Dress with light and airy materials for family time (or family photos) on the beach. Keep the color palette consistent with light shades of blue, and let the wind pick up the skirt of the dress. The color scheme here is clearly shades of blue and shades of white - the simplicity makes it chic. Bare feet, sunrise or sunset, these outfits just make me smell the saltwater... Here I am showing minimal accessories because after all - it’s the beach - y’all just showed up like this, right?

Shop it all below… and as always, find me on Instagram or send me an email with questions or styling needs!

Nap Dress Outfit

Nap Dress (duh)

Bra for Nap Dress - if you’re not interested in strapless, I recommend a square-neckline bra… this bra has worked well for many clients!

Coastal Blue Cropped Cardigan - UNREAL price

Straw Basket Bag - so chic, such a Nantucket-without-being-Nantucket bag to me

Sun hat - Carole clients know that we love sun protection, and this is a fab hat!

Male Coastal Outfits

Linen Button Down

Light Blue Linen Pants

//

Half-Placket Linen Shirt - love this style… nothing says coastal more than a half-button!

Linen Pants

//

Need more options on the blue linen pants? Here are a few more for your consideration!

Alternate Blue Linen Pants 1 / Alternate Blue Linen Pants (very limited sizes left, but deals to be had!) / Alternate Blue Linen Drawstring Pants

//

Need alternate blue linen button downs? There are TONS! Here’s a more expensive option but great quality... who doesn’t know and love the J.Crew options… and love this for a roomier fit! And if you’re concerned about being chilly, here’s a great sweater option!

Beach Outfits - Girls

Baby Girl Sweater Bubble (sweater top with starfish bottom)

Baby Girl Vertical Striped Bubble

Girl Puff Sleeve Dress

Girl Nap Dress - this is the exact match in silhouette. Determine if you’re going to do a complete match with pattern or if you’ll be doing color coordination (for example, select the navy Nap Dress) and then go for it!

//

Alternate Blue and White Dress, and another nautical/coastal option… Love how the silhouettes are similar even if the blues aren’t the same between this dress and the Nap Dress

If you want to coordinate with the striped bubble, this is a great option to consider, too!

For those of you asking for bigger girls in the coastal theme, here’s an option that still has availability in 8+ years old!

Love this dress, but wouldn’t recommend for photos as it’s an additional pattern to introduce - but still a great dress!

Additional Girl Option for older girls… but chiffon can definitely be a dressier look!
